Temporary Closure of Churches

The First Minister has announced further restrictions which will once again significantly affect upon our lives. As well as school closures and the legal requirement to stay at home, our places of worship will also be affected. Please note below an extract from The First Minister announcement: "A number of other measures will come into effect on Friday. It is with real regret that we consider it necessary for places of worship to close during this period for all purposes except broadcasting a service, or conducting a funeral or wedding. I am well aware of how important communal worship is to people. But we believe that this restriction is necessary to reduce the risk of transmission. While up to 20 people will still be able to attend funeral services, wakes will not be possible during January. And a maximum of 5 people will be able to attend wedding and civil partnership services. I know how devastating restrictions like these are and I give an assurance that we will not keep them in place for longer than is absolutely necessary." Therefore as per the First Ministers statement, from one minute past midnight on Friday morning, 8th January Places of Worship will close (except for funerals and weddings) and will remain closed until at least 31st January 2021.

We will be streaming masses at 9:30am on Sunday on our Facebook page for anyone who wishes to watch a mass at St. Bernadette's. We will keep you updated with new developments as they arise.
